Okay, my research was limited to googling pictures of frogs and toads before I posted this, but it looked a lot more like the frog pictures! (And also not like toads I've seen before.)
Google is populated by idjits who wouldn't know a frog from a moose if the latter turned over their car.
Okay, fine, maybe THEN.
Frogs don't have warts, frogs are slime-slippery (not just wet; that's from the water), frogs don't have the ridges behind their eyes that you can see quite clearly in your pic, and ooh, look, I found this:
As someone who has spent her childhood in wet meadows with Keschern -- I'm pretty sure this is a young toad or something in that direction, anyway: the warts and the eye-ridges and the presence of slime are pretty definite, AFAIK.
