Really good as a "fluffer" is fizzy water, too. Just saying...

And, hmm, pancakes the polish way, with sour cream and jam on top? Yumym.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_lemon_lyman_/ 2007-01-13 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Sounds yummy, I love sour cream on potato pancakes but have never tried it on the regular kind. Also never eaten sour cream ones and fruity ones together. Will have to try it sometime maybe.

[identity profile] dar-jeeling.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Right, you've mentioned that some time. I've never tried it, though, they're usually fluffy enough with the whipped egg whites.

Good thing I had pancakes for lunch or I'd be craaaaving them now. *g*

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_lemon_lyman_/ 2007-01-13 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Had chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast today. mmmmmmmmm chocolate. And you don't need syrup, so I can eat them with my hands and save on dishes.

[identity profile] dar-jeeling.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
But syrup is such sweet, sticky goodness!

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_lemon_lyman_/ 2007-01-13 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
That's why you add the chocolate. Cause otherwise I have to wash all the sweet sticky goodness off everything. (my slob of a brother once sat on a syrupy plate he'd stuck in a corner under some junk. Took forever to get it all off his stupid pants)

[identity profile] megstuff.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Pancakes: syrup, butter. (Well, OK, I eat them with fruit & whipped cream sometimes but that's dessert.)

Crepes: any old thing you want to put on them.

[identity profile] dar-jeeling.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Ohhh, I haven't heard about that distinction before.

Now I want pancakes!

[identity profile] dar-jeeling.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee. I'm sorry?

Make some, make some, make some.

I was able to resist for a couple of hours, but I eventually gave up and made pancakes! They were REALLY good! The fluff factor was nice and high! :)

(And your icon is hilarious! - so wrong, but funny)

I'm feeling pedantic today, so I'm going to argue about the difference between pancakes and crepes.

...today?!

Srsly. Huge diff. (But I love 'em both. & :-))

[identity profile] dar-jeeling.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
A few thousand words on the difference between pancakes, crepes and Palatschinken, plzthx!

;)

Mmm, pancakes.

I also eat mine with feta cheese and jam. Together. It balances out sweet and salty.

[identity profile] dar-jeeling.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
Feta cheese and jam? Huh. Interesting. Any particular kind of jam?
aurora: (SGA Rodney Who Wants Pancakes??)

[personal profile] aurora 2007-01-14 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
My grandmother makes her own raspberry and blueberry jams and they're delicious. Oh, and wild strawberries! But the raspberries is my favourite. I think it has to do with the little seeds that get stuck in your teeth. I'm so weird, oh yes!

(I'm so glad I have pancakes icon :X)

[identity profile] dar-jeeling.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
Wild strawberries? How do you even find enough of them to make jam? Or do you have like, huuuge fields of them in your backyard?
aurora: (SGA Rodney Who Wants Pancakes??)

[personal profile] aurora 2007-01-14 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
We get them when we're in Bulgaria for the summer. When we drive to my grandmother's village, there are people along the road selling them by the bucket.

My gran does have raspberries in her yard though.

[identity profile] dar-jeeling.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 02:32 pm (UTC)(link)
By the bucket? I'd use my Like, omg! icon, but I don't want to break the line of pancake icons. :D
aurora: (SGA Rodney Who Wants Pancakes??)

[personal profile] aurora 2007-01-14 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, they're not HUGE buckets - 2-3 liters. 5 max.

And I know what you mean. I've never had the opportunity to use this icon that much. *g*

[identity profile] enname.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
Hm. If I have one egg, then it is flat pancakes. If I am rich and have more than one egg then it is fluffy pancakes. If it is fluffy pancakes (because obviously I am feeling rich) then it is cottage cheese, strawberries and their syrup. If it is flat pancakes then depending on whether I bought stuff whilst feeling rich, it might be chocolate spread, or ... lemon juice and sugar. If it is summer, then it is definitely lemon juice and sugar.

[identity profile] dar-jeeling.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 02:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh! Lemon juice and sugar? That sounds delicious.

[identity profile] enname.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 02:38 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG! It is the only way to eat them.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_inbetween_/ 2007-01-14 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
Mine are fat and fluffy. And evolved from crepes into pancakes via the replacement of egg with banana. Long story. Can't think.

Pancake mix is the stupidest thing ever. It's flour, people. Flower people.

The lack of maple syrup is killing me. I had just discovered eating them with bacon and sugary syrup.

[identity profile] dar-jeeling.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 02:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't get the need for pancake mix either. *helpless flailing* I mean...why?

Oh God, divine combination of salty and sweet. *eyes glaze over*

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_inbetween_/ 2007-01-14 03:49 pm (UTC)(link)
enn had to read me this mail. For some reason she saw it and I didn't. I'm weirded out and need more bacon.

And there I was fearing you'd be disgusted, since you hadn't included it in poll :)

[identity profile] dar-jeeling.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 03:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Is LJ being weird again? *thumps it*

Ah, no. I was just thinking about the many, many possibilities that I couldn't be arsed to list. Comments for the win!

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_inbetween_/ 2007-01-14 04:01 pm (UTC)(link)
No, no, I just have two gmail accounts merged into one, and that funtion messes up when I use other google services :/ (coz they can't be merged or are all registered on the wrong account) - and she's probably an evil stalker.

Indeedy-do. Although the fact that I burned every single Kaiserschmarrn for six years now is heavily banana related. So much for cooking vegan. *shaky now - really needs more bacon*

I never grew out of the boxed pancake mix, but the last time that happened was 4 years ago. Clearly, that will skew your data %)

Strawberries with sugar or blueberries sounds like they'd be wonderful with pancakes. And syrup has got to be the real maple kind. Mmmmmmm....

[identity profile] dar-jeeling.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 02:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes! Real maple syrup for the win! *nods frantically*

fun fact!

[identity profile] kormantic.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
I have never, in my life, ever, made pancakes!

But...where's the fun in that?

[identity profile] dar-jeeling.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 02:40 pm (UTC)(link)
There's a lot I could say about that, but I feel this emoticon expresses my feelings quite clearly D:

;)

fluffer....hee

[identity profile] hollysamantha.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 05:58 am (UTC)(link)
you know I find that pancake mix in a box or whatever makes me breakout. wtf?

[identity profile] dar-jeeling.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 02:41 pm (UTC)(link)
A good reason to avoid it! *nodnod*

[identity profile] wearmyhat.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 06:46 am (UTC)(link)
LOL PANCAKES!

These icons have never been so appropriate! :D
