Man, the dangers of the internet, or any written communication. Did you see the research results analysing comprehension difficulties and misunderstandings in this medium without undertones and overtones and indeed, if you don't count notification beeps, no tone at all? & ;-)

Ah, but I've found I have to be careful -- proper cropping, nice lighting and such in order to have him look as good as he can look, whereas Sheppard/Flanigan just icon like a dream...

Hee. Truly dangerous, yes.
I read something along the same lines some time ago. I vaguely remember the article discussed emoticons and how they can be used to express irony/sarcasm/etc.

Crop, autocontrast, sharpen. Hm, yes, looks finished. Oh, Flanigan, you pretty, pretty thing.
