Most vividly, most perfectly alive

makes me think of (the two weeks before) The Siege. I could blather on about how it evokes this feeling of wonder at being alive, and about how every experience has to be so much more intense, if you know you might be dead soon, but I won't, because I'm not at my most coherent right now and would probably sound like an idiot.
In other news, I've been running (more like slow jogging, really). Now I have somewhat sore muscles (not an entirely bad feeling), but it was worth it. How could I forget that this can actually be fun?
