Ugh, beautiful style!!!

How did you do it? Did you use special lighting textures? Those look absolutely stunning. I would really like to try and recreate that effect.

I made a few 100x100 textures and saved them as layers of a psd file, so I could combine two or more layers using different blending modes (If you want the file, I still have it?). Get your base ready, copy and paste the texture (set to Lighten, Soft Light or Hard Light, whatever works best).

Thanks a lot! I got it and looked at the textures, then tried to make similar textures myself.

I think I put too much effort into them, they turned out more complicated than yours ;), but I'm actually pretty happy with the end result of the experiment:

Ohhhh, I like. "Huh" and "Sarcasm is an art" look really neat.
