Almost every Rodney/Teyla fic I've read was slow and sweet. That's not a complaint, especially because I am of the opinion that the pairing's all about the subtleties. But I just realized that if I think about it, I'm leaving Rodney's ego, his abrasive demeanour, out of the equation and I'm not quite sure why. Although I think that Teyla's indeed having a calming effect on him, their interactions, e.g. in "The Tower", make it obvious that he's still very much McKay and capable of bitching at her. Now, granted, it wasn't an intimate situation and doesn't inevitably reflect his behaviour in other circumstances...

You know what, I have no idea where I'm going with this.
